The series of charcoal drawings displayed in the narthex and sanctuary is based on inspiration from the hymn "Spirit of the Living God, Fall Afresh on Me." It is a call for renewal...and a complete surrender. It is an invitation for the Holy Spirit to move in us and throughout us, transforming us into the people we were created to be. The drawings are a visual expression of the felt presence of the Spirit during prayer and worship. The artist is Broad Street member Mary Mathias-Dickerson and will be on display throughout the month of February.

There will be an Ash Wednesday Service in the sanctuary on March 1 at 6:15 pm. N*Light*N and Chancel Choirs will sing for the service, and Pastors Randy Martin and Skip White will preside. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the season of preparation for celebrating Easter and our theme is "Journey to the Cross". In the service, we confront our own mortality and confess our sin before God within the community of faith. The use of ashes, marking the sign of the cross, is a powerful experiential way of participating in the call to repentance and reconciliation with Christ.
