Next summer we will introduce a new type of camp experience at Johnston Woods. Summit Camp is a unique mission opportunity for the youth to learn the value of serving in your own local community. We will partner with other local youth groups to spend a week making a difference in the lives of the people in our city.
N*LIGHT*N COLLECTING ITEMS FOR HOMELESS
N*Light*N will be collecting these NEW items to take to KARM (Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries) when they go there to sing in February. There will be boxes in the choir room and in The LINK to collect new (unused) donated items. All items can be found at Walmart, Target and other area stores. Donations will be accepted until Wednesday, February 7th. THANK YOU!
Hand warmers (such as Hot Hands),
Twin bed size blankets
TRAVEL size toothpaste
Rain ponchos (not the super thin, disposable kind, but ones that are a little thicker and more durable. Walmart has some for $7-$10 each)
For the students who have been regular attenders of Sunday School, we are offering them a free trip to see the Nashville Predators play against Carolina Hurricanes on December 21st. We will leave the church at 3pm and travel to Nashville. We will stop and eat dinner before the game. We will return late that night after the game so that our adults going can be at work on Friday and we can save money on hotel cost. (If picking up your youth at 1:30 am is a challenge, please contact Jarrod Suits. We have some options if needed.)
