Wednesday Evenings

 

General Information

We would love to have you join us for a meal and fellowship each week! Meals start at 5:00 pm in Triplett hall. (If you would like to purchase meals , the cost is $7 for adults; $5 for children 10 and under.) To make a reservation, call the church office at 423-476-5586 by Monday of each week. You can bring your own meal and enjoy sharing a meal with your friends! 

 

Children's Info

 

Infants-3 years old

Nursery: Our nursery is a safe and inviting place to play! Please bring diaper bag with what they will need to be changed with the child’s name on the bag and the child’s cup. The nursery staff is trained to change diapers, put children down for naps, engage in play and feed them at parents request. If child will need fed leave the bottle or snack with the nursery workers with instructions. Starts at 5:00 in Nursery.

3yrs- Pre-K

The Cherub Choir: Children will be led in singing, playing instruments, creative movement, sign language, and games- which are all centered around the Bible story of the week. They will be invited to sing for worship at Christmas time and in the Spring. Starts at 5:45 in Reynolds Classroom.

Game Time in Gym: Our intermission of the night! Fun games in the Gym with our leaders. Starts at 6:15 in Gym

Center Play: During this time the kids will have the opportunity to play in centers such as, coloring, blocks, dress-up, play-doh and more! 6:35 in K-2 Room.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Game Time in Gym: We kick off the night with a bang! Fun games and activities with leaders. This organized time of excitement will get the kids ready for the night! Starts at 5:45 in Gym

The Joy Choir: Children will be led in songs for worship, creative movement, hymns, musical instrument activities about God and his promises. They will sing for worship 3-4 times during the year, and will be a part of the Spring Musical program. Starts at 6:00 in the Cinema.

Bible Drama: There will be skits, crafts, storytelling and more surrounding Bible stories that the kids will be able to be immersed in. Going deeper into Bible stories so the kids will be able to engage in there own expressive way to connect with what the Lord was doing. Starts at 6:35 in 3-5th Grade classroom. 

2nd-5th Grades

Game Time in Gym: We kick off the night with a bang! Fun games and activities with leaders. This organized time of excitement will get the kids ready for the night! Starts at 5:45 in Gym.

Electives: Starts at 6:00. Children can choose from one of the following options:

Drums and more: No experience required! We

have fun with drums, xylophones, handchimes, and percussion instruments of all kinds. Scripture, name games, orchestrated Bible stories, and improvised drum circles. Come and make some noise with Mrs. Cynthia and Mr. Alex Wingo. In the Children’s Choir room.

Handbells: For children in grades 3-5. Heather Pardue will teach the children the basics of ringing in a handbell choir. They will ring for worship at Christmas time and in the Spring program. In the Handbell room.

Jubilee Dancers: Alison Pryor choreographs, dances and teaches this group to express praise to God through movement and dance. They share in worship in both Connections and traditional services throughout the year, as well as leading in the Spring Musical program and Vacation Bible School. In Kid’s Corner Room

At 6:35 Children can select one of the following options:

The Asbury Choir: They are becoming good singers and worship leaders! They will learn to participate in worship in all the different ways; including praise, scripture, prayers, anthems and blessings. They will sing for worship 4-5 times during the year and will present a Spring Musical program. This group is directed by Cynthia Johnson. In Children’s Choir Room.

Conquerors: A new opportunity for kids interested in sports, games and interactive play. All activities will be connected with Bible and Discipleship. 

Youth

 

Handbells: Be a part of a team of ringers, learn the basics of handbell ringing or advance your skills. Ring for worship at Christmas and Easter. Starts at 5:30 in the Handbell Room.

Youth Helpers: Be a leader and serve each week as a game leader and small group coordinator for the children of Broad Street! A wonderful opportunity to grow in service and fellowship each week. Includes a Free t- shirt. Plus it is really fun to let out some energy with the kids! In the Gym. Starts at 5:40.

N*Light*N: Back for its 17th year, the N*L*N Youth Choir is open to all 6th-12th grade youth, no matter the level of singing ability, all are invited. In Adult Choir Room. Starts at 6:15.

Adult info

Bible Study: Begins August 23 in Fealty with Rev. Micah. This Bible Study will engage the ancient text through cultural background, geography, and historical context.

Disciple I: Begins August 30 in Parlor with Rev. Skip. In depth Bible study, covering both New and Old testament.

Financial Peace University:

BSUMC will offer the Financial Peace University 9 week course twice this fall, commencing August 9 and October 11.

Chancel Choir: Open to all Youth and Adults. Starts at 7:30 in Choir Room. (Staff Care: Want to be in the choir? Need a place for your kids to play while you sing? Staff care will be a time where kids can come and play in the gym with members of the staff while their parents will be able to engage in the adult choir.)

Note to Parents: This year we are striving to create a safe and inviting experience for both the children and their parents. Check in will be at a kiosk located at the end of the hallway where the Gym is located. Parents of children ages 3years – 5th grade will come upstairs with their children, check them in, and make sure they get to the correct classroom. Parents will come upstairs to the same kiosk for the check out as well. We understand that there are lots of different electives and movement, so regardless of what time you come, check in or out it will all happen at the kiosk.
