There will be a pancake breakfast in Triplett hall January 19th 8:30am-10:30am to raise money for night to shine. It is $5 for breakfast, you can get your ticket in the LINK this Sunday or at the door the morning of. If you are considering volunteering for the Prom night you will need to go through a training. MISSION TEAM RETURNS TO HONDURAS FEBRUARY 16-23, 2019
We will install our 8th clean water system in Nueva Esperanza. Since our July trip was canceled, we have already reserved tickets for the February trip. We need people who will work in the medical clinic, with the water team, and the water teaching team. We have a lot of fun, fellowship and good food. Join us January 16th for a special kick off of our Wednesday Night on Broad program. Our special guest speaker, Father Stephen Freeman will discuss the topic of shame from a Biblical, historical, cultural and psychological perspective. Father Stephen was educated at Furman University, Seabury-Western Theological University and Duke University where he studied with Stanley Hauerwas. He is an author and popular podcast host. Father Stephen is currently the priest at St. Anne Orthodox Church in Oak Ridge. This is a one time only program, so make sure to save the date!

An intergenerational Advent Experience. Wednesday, December 19th at 6pm. Get ready to be immersed in the story of Christs birth. You will be using all of your senses as you journey through the incredible happenings surrounding the birth of Christ. This intergenerational experience will have something for all ages to enjoy!

The whole church family will gather in the sanctuary to light the Advent candles, the Chrismon Tree, hang the garlands and see the room brightened with red poinsettias. You are invited to come and sing carols with the choirs, hear the handbells ring, and learn from the prophets in scripture about the coming King, Emmanuel, the Messiah
Please remember our upcoming Charge Conference meeting November 11, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Parlor. During our meeting we will approve the preliminary budget for 2019, elect leaders and officers, and discuss our ministry and mission plans for the upcoming year. Mark your calendars for our next family service project November 11th. We will be creating art pieces to add to our Operation Christmas Child boxes to spread the joy of Christ with children around the world! We will meet in Triplett Hall. Please bring your items to fill a box, If you need more info on what to bring grab a pamphlet from the church offices. All ages are welcome to join!
Beginning November 11, we will be offering a new class that is based on the Gospel Project Curriculum for parents. This is the same curriculum your children are learning on Sunday morning, and now you will have the opportunity to follow along with the adult version of the curriculum. This class will be informal, interactive and interesting. We will start at 9:30 and meet during the normal Sunday School hour.

This will be a four week study beginning October 16 at 9:30am in the parlor.
Join us for a wonderful church wide Fall Festival at Johnston Woods on September 30 from noon - 4pm. We will have stuff for the everyone! Hay Rides, Pumpkin Patch, Bounce Houses, Petting Zoo, Corn Hole Tournament, and so much more! We will also have the annual Johnston Woods fundraising live and silent auction that day as well. We will have tickets for sale for our BBQ lunch on sale in the LINK center at church. Please invite someone you know who needs a church home to join you for the Fall Festival and pick up a free ticket for their household. So come and join us after church on September 30 for a great day together.
FAREWELL TO JOSHUA
After 8 years of faithful service, Joshua Knight, our organist will be leaving BSUMC to take another organist position. Sunday, September 16 will be his last day with us. Please come by and speak to Joshua in the Link after the 8:30 worship services, or in the sanctuary after the 10:45 services. Let's shower him with blessings and well-wishes! High School Thursday Morning Bible Study

Come and join us for a study of Romans. As Christians, it is sometimes necessary to get back to the basics of the Christian faith. What better way to do that than by studying the book of Romans. A study of Romans is valuable to anyone wishing to better understand the foundations of the Christian faith. We meet at the home of Jim & Sherry Hogue.
September 2 we will combine all four services and worship together as ONE CHURCH at 10:45am in the Sanctuary. Rev. Betsy Switzer will be preaching and will lead us in the Service of Holy Communion. There will be no children's worship as children are invited to worship with their families. All Sunday School classes will meet at the regular time, 9:30am.
