HONDURAS - The mission team of 11 leaves February 10, for a week in Morazan, Honduras. The primary goal is the installation of another clean water system in San Fernando, a small community of 190 houses, 800 people, two schools and two churches, one Catholic and one Protestant.

NIGHT TO SHINE
We are so excited to be a part of the Night to Shine event through the Tim Tebow foundation this year! This is an opportunity for people of all ages to come out and serve people with special needs within our community by giving them a prom night they will never forget!
We are having an informational training meeting in the parlor on Sunday February 4th at 2:30.

We have a new Life group that will be starting on Tuesday, January 31 at 6pm. It will be hosted by Rachael and Jordan Goff. AMERICAN MASTERS: MUSIC FOR MIXED CHAMBER CHOIR

Broad Street UMC (Music Director, Cynthia Johnson) presents a 25-voice chamber group from Voci Virili Men's Consort and Voice of Reason Women's Ensemble, performing a mostly a cappella program of music by American composers from the Revolutionary Period to today.
The program includes larger works "The Peaceable Kingdom," by Randall Thompson to texts from the Book of Isaiah and "In the Beginning" to the text of the first two chapters of Genesis, featuring mezzo-soprano soloist, Kaylee Nichols.Conducted by Josh Golden

Nov. 5th We are excited to begin our new sermon series "Growing As You Grow". We hope that you will make plans to join us for this short four week sermon series before we move into our advent season.
THE BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY TEAM will be having our annual rummage sale on Saturday, November 4.

BROAD STREET CHURCH FAMILY
FALL FESTIVAL at Johnston Woods
October 29th Noon-4pm.
Join the entire Broad Street Family for a wonderful day at Johnston Woods. We are hosting a number of activities for everyone of all ages. Children can enjoy inflatable games, hay rides to our pumpkin patch, games and so much more!
For our adults there will be a live band and our 4th Annual Johnston Woods Auction. This yearly auction allows us to continue the great work of ministry these Woods provide for so many each year. We will be serving a BBQ lunch starting at noon and will end lunch around 1:30pm.
Please join your entire church family for a day of fun and relaxation at Johnston Woods.
DISTRICT OLDER ADULT EVENT- September 25- Westwood Baptist Pavilion - 10:30
Maggie Copper from Asbury, Inc, Kingsport will be our guest. She will discuss problems of aging and how to deal with them, prevention of falls, exercise as we age, and other topics. G.P.S. Direction for Discipleship is a Wednesday evening program beginning with a meal @ 5:00 followed by programming for all age groups. Some of the ministry opportunities offered are :

Family Promise helps families with children to find sustainable housing as they work through a 3-month program. Many area churches are involved, and Broad Street UMC hosts families four weeks each year.
